MADE IN BASEL

Fair, wearable, and durable – in a creative collaboration, BaslerIN and fashion designer Petra Huber developed a fresh, limited-edition summer bag.

The young Basel-based fashion label "Feb2nd" stands for creative, wearable fashion for every day. The name "Feb2nd" is short for February 2nd and marks Petra Huber's birthday, one of the 365 days a year on which "Feb2nd" can be worn. During her bachelor's thesis for her degree in Textile/Fashion Design & Technology at the Swiss Textile School in Zurich, she delved deeper into the topic of "fair fashion" and set herself the goal of developing fair and sustainable fashion with her fashion label.

"Slow fashion" instead of "fast fashion" is the motto. Preference is given to materials that are certified and meet certain standards. Depending on the type of certification, it ensures that they are environmentally friendly, free of harmful substances, manufactured under socially responsible working conditions, and with a transparent supply chain. The use of standards is not yet a given in the fashion industry. However, due to growing environmental awareness and the consideration of fair working conditions, they are receiving increasing attention.

Petra Huber's new products are developed in her own studio. Depending on the project, production takes place in her own sewing studio or at selected production facilities. The certified pattern maker with a federal diploma in women's tailoring and business administration places great emphasis on the quality of the workmanship. Her products are designed to provide long-lasting customer satisfaction. Timeless design, high quality, and appropriate craftsmanship guarantee their longevity.

In collaboration with BaslerIN, Petra Huber developed a bright, fresh, white shoulder bag with a simple design, limited to 30 pieces. It features two covered interior pockets that offer ample space for small items. This practical shoulder bag is made of canvas, giving the bag a sturdy and dimensionally stable appearance. The material is made of 100% organic cotton, which is GOTS-certified. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally recognized certification standard that guarantees the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers and fair working conditions in the textile and clothing industry. The bag is washable at 30°C.

The LIMITED EDITION CANVAS BAG (limited to only 30 pieces) can be ordered from Rancoonbooks or our Feb2nd webshop .
